Postcard from Italy

Well, we didn't have much time to write postcards since it was such a quick trip, but hopefully this blog will be a suitable replacement.
We had a wonderful time. We started out near Ancona, which is the area where the bride grew up. We spent four days there and the bride and groom organized social events for each day, so we had a great time hanging out with friends (old and new). Both the wedding ceremony and the reception were wonderful. We stayed with one of the brides friends, Serena, and got to know her and her boyfriend a little. It was a struggle at first because very few people in this particular area speak English, but our trusty phrase-book carried us through. It was Andy's first time in a non-English-speaking country, a very exciting experience for him.
Our friend Arnaldo then drove us up to his home in Venice. What a strange and beautiful place! We loved the atmosphere: no cars, the sound of water at night, beautiful homes with some much detail in the architecture, and some of the best food we have ever eaten in our entire lives. Arnaldo and his parents were so kind in welcoming us into their home and taking care of us.
So, back to life in London, we are happy to be home and in the comforts of routine. It's been a very cold summer, so we were glad to get away, but it is finally warming up a bit here.
Hope all of you are well.
Peace, Mandy

Well Hello, Andy & Mandy!!!
I "found" your blog...I'm so excited. I knew there was one existing out there somewhere, so I typed in "Andy and Mandy Langenfeld Blog" and actually found it! I just got done reading EVERYTHING from the beginning...Yeah, really! It was all very interesting and fun. Love the pictures. I wish Ed and I could come and visit you two. It's not impossible, I am just always scared of doing the whole plane reservation thingy...we obviously haven't traveled much. (I'll have to talk to Maggie about that...she can probably give me some pointers.)

WOW, Andy...one year of school already gone by...Congrats! And Mandy, so happy to hear about your new job. It sounds wonderful! Sounds like you two are having the time of your lives...We can't help but be a little jealous. (Ok..ok...maybe ALOT jealous!) An opportunity like that doesn't come around for everyone...I'm so happy it worked out for you two...Enjoy it while you can! Congrats also, on the new "flat"!

Brandon is done with 1 year of his auto mech. school and is up @ the Brainerd dealership for his internship and Kelsey just started her Soph year @ St. Mary's. I just talked to her and she likes all her profs this year. She will have a tough semester with 17 credits of mostly sciences, math, honors & a business class thrown in there.

Well, this probably isn't the place to get too carried away with writing. When you get a chance, send me your e-mail address to kathyl@spacestar.net.

Just a side note...We had some bad thunderstorms in Burnsville a couple of nights ago and still don't have power yet. Our neighbors tree fell (could have hit our garage, but thankfully didn't) and landed on the power lines that go from our house to the main power pole...It broke the mast right out of our roof. We are STILL waiting for Excel to come and fix!....What a pain!

You two take care & I'll talk to you again soon! Love, one of your "many" aunts, Kathy :)
